Tell us about your company:
Tru Cinnamon is the first cinnamon water brand—born from my own health journey. I was looking for a way to curb my caffeine intake, which was fueling anxiety, and to find a natural alternative to help support my high cholesterol. That search led me to Ceylon cinnamon, a plant long celebrated for its health benefits. Tru Cinnamon is made with just three clean ingredients: organic Ceylon cinnamon, organic lemon juice, and water. Nothing more, nothing less. No preservatives. No natural flavors. No sugar. Zero calories. Just clarity, purity, and transparency—in a bottle.
What inspired you to start your business?
I started Tru Cinnamon out of my own health journey. I was working in a high-performing career raising money for institutions, traveling a lot, and not prioritizing my health. I was dealing with a ton of anxiety from caffeine and high cholesterol that doctors wanted to treat with medication. I wanted a natural way forward, so I began experimenting with Ceylon cinnamon at home. It became a daily ritual that steadied my energy, supported my health, and reconnected me to myself. That simple ritual is now Tru Cinnamon. From there, I knew I wanted to share this with the world.
What are your proudest achievements so far?
I would say my proudest achievements are the connections I have made through this journey and the people that resonate deeply with my story. It’s been incredible to witness people truly resonate with the product, what I’m building, and the support they show. To go from an idea that no one really understood or saw to fully embracing the path we are creating forward. We have grown into close to 20 locations in Los Angeles and recently launched an online store.
What advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs:
Be your truest self. Find something that genuinely excites you and feels deeply aligned with who you are. Don’t wear a mask to fit in—express yourself wholeheartedly. The path of an entrepreneur is far from linear and rarely just wins. It comes with challenges, uncertainty, and moments that test you. Those who truly know themselves, have courage, and are willing to step into the unknown without clinging to a specific outcome are the ones who will fully embody the journey… even when (and often when) it doesn’t go the way they imagined.
