Meet USC alumni Jessica Koosed Etting & Amanda Roessler, Co-Founders JAM

Tell us about your company:
Jam is a family management platform that simplifies scheduling and coordination for busy working families struggling with the complex logistics of modern family life. Jam merges calendars, to-dos, driving schedules, and more into a single app, with AI-enabled scheduling and integrations, allowing for seamless coordination with family members, caregivers, and extended networks.
What inspired you to start your business?
As two working moms, we deeply felt the burden of the mental load, which falls primarily to female caregivers. We wanted to create a tool to make life easier for all caregivers, and to reduce the mental load of modern family life.
What are your proudest achievements so far?
First month we saw conversion from free trial to paying customers, being named “An AI tool Parents should embrace” and a top digital tool by Mashable, closing our first fundraising round oversubscribed.
What advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs:
There are many days where it can feel hard, mundane or that you’re not making progress — keep plugging back in to that mission that drove you to create the business so you can remember the bigger picture and drive yourself forward.
Please share a memory or thought about your alma mater:
USC was such a dynamic, social and exciting place to be as a student — however as an alum, I appreciate even more the deep network of fellow Trojans willing to offer advice and assistance, and the way that the relationships I forged there have become true lifelong friendships.
