Meet Penn State alum Iman McDonnaugh-Brown, Founder of WAWM

Tell us about your company:
WAWM® (We Are Wonderfully Made, LLC) offers unique, high quality hot sauces that are delicious and healthy. We do this by bringing customers our Trinidadian recipes using only Non-GMO, Vegan, GF, and low sodium ingredients.
What inspired you to start your business?
My family. My family is everything to me and that was the solid foundation for my love of making this sauce to share with everyone. I never enjoyed mainstream hot sauces but once my grandmother taught me how to make our Trini pepper sauces like she made in Trinidad, I fell in love. I started sharing them with others and everyone felt the same way as me. Our sauces add exciting flavor, all clean ingredients, and a heat that’s enjoyable and full of flavor instead of just being hot. I knew I had something special to share and having the opportunity to represent Trinidad and Tobago, a country that is barely represented in U.S. grocery, is something I’m so proud to do.
What are your proudest achievements so far?
We have many it’s hard to recount them all. We have been featured in magazines and articles, featured in popular subscription boxes like Fuego box, sold out at huge expo’s like NYC Hot Sauce Expo, featured in the Penn Stater, sold in grocery stores around the country, featured on Amazon for Veteran’s Day. We are just so proud to be able to share the love of our culture and family with everyone and bring joy to people through food.
