Meet USC alum Tanya Gonzalez, Founder EAUSO VERT

Tell us about your company:
EAUSO VERT is a female and Latin-owned luxury fragrance brand developing clean yet complex perfumery for the next generation of scent enthusiasts—fragrance lovers seeking well-layered creations that are cruelty-free, transparent, and able to fit seamlessly into their collection regardless of gender.
What inspired you to start your business?
The lack of representation within the fine fragrance category as well as the challenge in finding a clean but also complex fragrance offering.
What are your proudest achievements so far?
– In 2023, we won the Allure Best of Beauty Award for Best Floral Fragrance (a non-clean category) for our perfume, PURPLE NOON.
– That same year, we won a Beauty Independent Beacon Award for Best Product Launch within the fragrance category for our second-best seller, VANILLA EMBERS.
– In 2024, we were named a finalist for Best Indie Scent by CEW for one of our more recent launches, FRUTO OSCURO, a fragrance inspired by my Latin heritage.
– Our focus on the brand’s positioning within the luxury space, launching with retail partners such as Bergdorf Goodman, Moda Operandi, Twisted Lily, FWRD, and other independent stockists.
What advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs:
Don’t wait for perfection, launch and learn as you go.
Please share a memory or thought about your alma mater:
I developed the vision for this brand while at Marshall. One of my favorite memories is building out the business plan for EAUSO VERT as part of a group project in Diane Badame’s marketing class. With the help of my peers, I was able to bring this brand to life and ultimately received the highest score across our entire class.
