Meet  MSU alum Lekha Vyas, Founder of ELVY Lab

Tell us about your company:
I’m an ex-L’Oréal and Estée Lauder executive with over 15 years in beauty and wellness, now building a new frontier in natural metabolic health.

We’ve developed a patented oral dissolving strip, a natural GLP-1 alternative that mimics the effects of Ozempic and Mounjaro, but without injections or side effects. Our proprietary formulation uses clinically backed, plant-based actives that target appetite, blood sugar, metabolism, and mood; and because it’s sublingual, it bypasses the gut for faster, more effective absorption.

We call it the SynQ, and it’s the first product in our broader ODF wellness platform, expanding into alcohol-replacement, sexual wellness, and hormone health.

We’re completing pilot studies now and beginning our seed raise to scale manufacturing and launch DTC and retail next year. Our mission is simple — to help people feel in control of their bodies and minds, naturally.”
What inspired you to start your business?
The idea came from watching my mom struggle to swallow pills during cancer treatment and realizing I had the same issue with daily supplements. I wanted to make wellness effortless.

So, we created Synq, a line of oral dissolving strips that deliver fast-acting, clinically backed nutrients. Our first product, the Super Strip, is a natural GLP-1 alternative that mimics Ozempic’s effects without injections or side effects.

We are building a new standard for wellness that is simple, effective, and easy to take anywhere.
What are your proudest achievements so far?
Building Synq Wellness under ELVY Lab from a personal idea into a science-backed wellness platform is something I’m really proud of. Turning a personal challenge into innovation that can genuinely help others feels incredibly meaningful. I’m also proud that we’ve developed a patented natural GLP-1 oral strip that works, something most labs said couldn’t be done. Beyond the product, I’m proud of the mission we stand for: making wellness easy, stigma-free, and accessible to everyone.
What advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs:
Start with a real problem that you care about deeply, because that’s what will keep you going when it gets hard. Build something that adds value, not noise. Surround yourself with people who are smarter than you and stay curious enough to learn from every failure. Most importantly, protect your energy — your mindset and resilience are your greatest assets as a founder.
Please share a memory or thought about your alma mater:
My time at my alma mater taught me how to think big while staying grounded. It was where I learned to combine creativity with discipline, a mindset that has shaped everything I have done since, from building global beauty brands to launching Synq Wellness. I still remember late nights brainstorming ideas with classmates who dreamed as boldly as I did. That environment of curiosity, ambition, and collaboration gave me the confidence to take risks and build something meaningful in the real world.
