Meet MSU alum Allison Zaluski, Founder of Re-Route

Tell us about your company:
Re-Route is a holistic wellness brand I founded to make emotional well-being more approachable, natural, and empowering. Our first product, In Its Tracks, is the original all-natural hard sour candy infused with adaptogens and vitamin D. It’s designed to engage the senses and help people pause and recenter when life feels overwhelming. Each piece combines clean ingredients, mindful intention, and eco-friendly packaging to support those seeking simple, natural ways to feel grounded in the moment.
What inspired you to start your business?
The inspiration for Re-Route Wellness came from my own journey with panic disorder, which began after my father passed away during my first day at Michigan State University. For years, I struggled with panic attacks that affected my daily life until I discovered that with a little help from exposure therapy and grounding techniques, I could overcome my panic attacks. I wanted to turn my personal grounding technique of sour candy into something that could actually help others, especially those searching for natural alternatives to manage stress and overwhelm. What started as a way to help myself became a mission to empower others to take control of their mental wellness in a more mindful, stigma-free way.
What are your proudest achievements so far?
My proudest achievements so far include graduating from Michigan State, and hearing the testimonials I have gotten from my business. Hearing how it has helped others who struggle from anxiety like me is why I continue to do what I do.
What advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs:
Just go for it. I started my business with no idea how I was going to do it, no funding, nothing. There are ways to find resources everywhere and with determination, you can genuinely do anything you want to.
Please share a memory or thought about your alma mater:
Attending Michigan State University shaped who I am today. It’s where I discovered my passion for entrepreneurship, met incredible mentors and my best friends, and learned how to turn ideas into real impact. Once a Spartan, always a Spartan!
